Symbols, Pictograms are an important part of our everyday life. We humans have developed this amazing common language over so many years that it almost goes undetected. It’s an art form unlike none. Conveying the right message in a concise and easy to interpret image is the key to this artform. The Noun project has an amazing collection of such symbols. It’s simple, elegant and inspiring. The Noun project according to it’s mission page states that “The Noun Project collects, organizes and adds to the highly recognizable symbols that form the world’s visual language, so we may share them in a fun and meaningful way”. The Symbols are all high quality both in artistic and quantitative measures. The pictogram’s can be downloaded in svg format. The best part is they are all free.

It seems Viktor Hertz is the designer of some of the symbols on the Noun Project. Here is his flickr page where some of his fabulous work is on display.
