In all these 2.5 million years of our journey as humans(homosapiens) we have constantly been learning about the eco system around us. With our technological advancements we can easily coax ourselves to have discovered everything that is out there in the natural world. Astonish Me is a WWF project where it is all about learning newly found species. It is estimated that there could be 5 to 10 million or maybe even more species yet to be discovered.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of WWF, acclaimed writer Stephen Poliakoff and director Charles Sturridge created this amazing short film. It showcases newly found species like The colossal Squid,Chan’s megastick,Varanus macraei,Goodman’s mouse lemur,Cryptic forest falcon,Ranitomeya summersi,Kopstein’s bronzeback,Pygmy sloth,Gunnison sage-grouse,Rio Acarí marmoset,Kipunji. On one end we have species that are getting endangered and possibly extinct and on the other side we are yet to discover so many of them. Our planet will exist either with or without us, but we need to ask ourseleves what are we going to leave behind for posterity.
