Utilizing the power of css, html and javascript one can create decent enough webapps. Using the “Add to Home Screen” feature in IPhone,ITouch, IPad, we can get the webapp page run as an app on IPhone. Hangman is my first attempt at creating such web based app. It’s a simple word guessing game. It has no ads, no snazzy images, just a simple minimalist interface. I hope you enjoy playing it, as much as I enjoyed coding it. Here are the steps to install it:

1. On your IPhone , open the safari browser and type in the url:

www.rushis.com/iphone/hangman.htm

2. Tap the + icon on the browser, then tap on the “Add to Home Screen” button.

3. At this screen you can name the app, then click Add. You should see that the icon is now on your home screen.

Now you can use this app irrespective of whether you have data/internet connectivity or not. The app updates itself automagically, so you always have the latest app 🙂

  2. Nice game Rushi

“SAPIENTIAL”- guessed it with 5 attempts remaining but heck, had to look up dictionary.com for the meaning 🙂 ….

  3. Rushi,

Congrats. This is so good. Thanks for sharing. I am not using the original version any more.

    All the best

  4. Good deal! Now perhaps all those folks we know who complain English is not their primary language will learn something.

P.S. Ratnakar – whoever you are – please don’t advertise the fact you “lived together” with Rushi. Seriously, he needs to get married some day.
