Microsoft Edge, a browser for Windows 10. The Edge browser was touted to alleviate the end users and web developers , of the countless issues earlier versions of Internet Explorer was plagued with. However, that did not happen and in a surprising move Microsoft announced it would adopt the Chromium Open source project for its web browser.
Chromium is an open-source browser project from Google, that aims to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all Internet users to experience the web. Google’s Chrome browser shares majority of the chromium DNA barring logos and licensing terms.

This is a welcome move which every Web Developer would endorse. Hopefully now both the companies will speed up efforts towards a better web and a standards based browser.
